FERTILIZER WILL HAVE AN ANALYSIS OF 6-6-61 OR OTHER
ANALYSIS
AS MAY BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER, AND WILL BE ADDED AT A RATE OF 6LB PER CUBIC YARD OF FINISH SOIL .
2. THE LOCATIONS OF PLANTS. AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS. ARE APPROXIMATE. THE FINAL LOCATIONS MAY BE ADJUSTED TO ACCOMMODATE
UNFORESEEN FIELD CONDITIONS, TO COMPLY WITH SAFETY SETBACKS, OR AS OTHERWISE DIRECTED OR APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FLAG ALL PROPOSED TREE AND PLANT BED LOCATIONS TO THE EXTENT REQUESTED BY THE ENGINEER AND FOR
HIS OR HER APPROVAL PRIOR TO PLANTING.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOCATION OF ALL UTILITIES PRIOR TO EXCAVATION. REFER TO ROADWAY PLANS /GENERAL
NOTES)
FOR A LISTING OF ALL KNOWN UTILITIES IN THE AREA.
4. THEREFORE, HAND WATERING MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CONTRACTOR. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE HIS OR HER OWN WATERING
SCHEDULE AND RATE TO ENSURE THE HEALTHY ESTABLISHMENT OF ALL PLANTS. ALL COSTS FOR HAND WATERING OF PLANTINGS SHALL BE
11tVLACtV BY THE
CONTRACTOR, AT NO COST TO THE DEPARTMENT. WATER FORCE FROM WATER TRUCK SHALL NOT BE APPLIED IN A MANNER WHICH WOULD
DAMAGE
PLANTS, NOR IN A MANNER WHICH WOULD REMOVE SOIL SAUCER RING OR MULCH AROUND EACH PLANT. ANY DAMAGE TO PLANT OR OTHER
SURROUNDING ITEMS, EITHER BY WATER FORCE OR WATER TRUCK, 1S THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO REPAIR OR REPLACE.
5. ALL LANDSCAPE BEDS SHALL RECEIVE A UNIFORMLY APPLIED MULCH MATERIAL TO A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 3" OVER THE ENTIRE PLANT
BED, /EXCEPT
WITHIN 3' Of TREE TRUNKS). MULCH TYPE TO BE GRADE 'A' RECYCLED MULCH. THE COST FOR MULCH WILL BE INCLUDED IN
THE COST OF THE PLANT.
7. INDEX
#544 SPECIFIES THE ROOT BALL TO BE PLACED SUCH THAT THE TOP OF THE BALL IS FLUSH WITH THE ADJACENT, EXISTING GRADE.
AS A SPECIFIC
REQUIREMENT OF THIS PROJECT, ALL PLANTS WILL BE PLANTED WITH THE TOP OF THE ROOT BALL ABOVE THE EXISTING GRADE A DISTANCE
OF ONE
TENTH UI10) OF THE HEIGHT OF THE ROOT BALL, lie, A 10' TALL ROOT BALL WILL BE PLANTED WITH THE TOP 14 ABOVE GRADE).
9. WHERE EXISTING TREES ARE SHOWN TO REMAIN WITHIN PROPOSED PLANT BEDS OR SOD AREAS, THE DEPTH OF REQUIRED EXCAVATION FOR
BED
PREPARATION MAY BE REDUCED AS NECESSARY TO AVOID DAMAGE TO TREE ROOTS TO REMAIN.
10. ST. AUGUSTINE SOD WILL BE USED IN ALL IRRIGATED MEDIANS AND ISLANDS AND 15 QUANTIFIED IN THESE LANDSCAPE PLANS. BAHIA
SOD WILL BE USED
IN ALL UNIRRIGATED ISLANDS AND AT BACK OF SIDEWALK AREAS AND IS QUANTIFIED IN THE ROADWAY PLANS.
11.
