Y, <br />A letter and original blue print was received from Mr. Julian <br />W. Lowenstein, Secretary -Treasurer of Vero Beach Shores, Inc., requesting <br />approval of his proposed application to the Corp of Army Engineers for <br />a permit to fill' and dredge a portion of land 450' X 2600' immediately <br />east of the bulkhead line of his property lying immediately south of. <br />Oslo Road on the west shore of the Indian River in Section 29, Township <br />33 S, Range 40E. Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by <br />Commissioner Haffield and unanimously carried, that the application be' <br />approved. <br />Mr. Treley Thompson appeared before the Board and again requested <br />action. on the land on U.S.#1 which he understood was to be returned either <br />to him or Lo Mrs. Ila Kroegel. Mr. Thompson was informed by the Board <br />that they were in sympathy with him; but the land could only be returned <br />by the State Road Department. He was requested to consult with his <br />attorney as to the proper procedure in getting the land released by the <br />State. <br />Honorable Roland Miller, Mayor of the Town of Indian River Shores; <br />Honorable Richard Muldrew, member of the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Brevard County; Mr. Fred Roberts and Mr. Jim Adams representing the <br />South Brevard Beaches Chamber of Commerce; Honorable Jack Sturgis, Mayor <br />of the City of Vero Beach; Honorable Art Karst, Representative from Indian <br />River County, and Alma Lee Loy, President of the Vero Beach Chamber of <br />Commerce, appeared before the Board and commended the Board for the great <br />amount of work and effort extended by them in bringing about the <br />accomplishment of the paving of A -1-A and the bridging of the Sebastian <br />Inlet.
