Keebler that the State Road Department made'the survey.and..that any <br />'bottom. land is'owned by the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund of <br />the State of Florida. Before such bottom land can be filled, it has to <br />be purchased from the Trustees. The Board further informed Mr. Keebler <br />that the County is not allowed by law to fill any land for any private <br />individual. After considerable discussion, it was'decided that Comznis'sioner <br />Macdonald and Mr. Keebler meet with representatives of. the State Road <br />Department in Fort Lauderdale on Friday, August 9, at 11:00 -and report <br />back to the Board.. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, the Chairman was authorized <br />to sign the Agreement between The Shoup Voting Machine Corporation and <br />Indian River County for the purchase of ten (10) new voting machines. <br />The County Attorney presented copies of bills affecting Indian <br />River County that had been passed by the Florida Legislature at their <br />1963 session. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that, as of September 30, <br />1963, Colonel Rex Beech be relieved of his duties as Civil Defense Director <br />of Indian River County. The Board requested the Clerk to inform Colonel <br />Beech by letter and to express the"Board's appreciation for his work and <br />effort during the time that he has served in the capacity of Civil Defense <br />Director. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner <br />Haffield, and unanimously carried, that the following Resolution be <br />adopted: <br />173 <br />
