The County Engineer stated that a traffic survey on U. S. 1 at Gifford is now being made by the State Road Department. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- sioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the County Attorney, the County Engineer and Kenneth Damerow are authorized to make a trip ,to Tallahassee on December 11, 1963. Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that Commissioner Macdonald be request- ed to go to Ft. Lauderdale to discuss with the State Road Department the progress of King's highway, to discuss the borrowing of funds for West Wabasso Road and King's Highway and to find out how quickly we can obtain these funds to build King's highway, etc. Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commis- sioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that Kenneth Damerow and the County Engineer, be authorized to make a trip to Sarasota on December 13, 1963. Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commis- sioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the Engineer's office be requested to find out and put on a map all of the state owned lands in the county and ask that the Clerk and Tax Assessor co-operate with • the". Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- sioner Waddell and unanimously carried, to authorize the Clerk to pay $291.37 from the escrow account to the Tax Collector for taxes in con- nection with A1A right of way. Motion was made by Commissioner.Waddell, seconded by Commis- sioner McCullers and unanimously carried, to authorize the purchase .of an 16 inch• scrubbing and'polishing machine for the Courthouse for the sum:of $260.00. • Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- sioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the petition of John. Griffin to the TBHospitalbe approved. •
