MIT <br />WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 1964 <br />The Board of County Coflmiissioners.of Indian River County, <br />- Florida, met at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a regular <br />meeting held at 8:00 o'clock, A.M., Wednesday, January 8, 1964. All <br />members were present. Also present were Ed Schmucker,"County Engineer, <br />John Sutherland, County Attorney, and Al Webber and Freda Wright; <br />Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions <br />to be made to the minutes of December 4, 1963. There were none and <br />upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as read. <br />Homer Fletcher, T.x Assessor, appeared before the Board and <br />presented the roll listing the agricultural lands in the county. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, that the list of agricultural lands <br />as presented by. the Tax Assessor be accepted and that this Board im- <br />mediately proceed to review them and return they roll to the Tax Assessor <br />within the next thirty days. <br />Mr. Don Carll appeared before the Board to discuss the per- <br />formance bond on Whispering Palm Subdivision, Unit No. 2. After some <br />discussion, Motion was Lade by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commis- <br />sionr t-raffie.d and un r1__, }usly.car ied, that we extend the time for <br />cor pleLl <br />this unit for a period of one year, providing that we receive <br />a cash uond or surety uund from a duly licensed Insurance Company of the <br />State of Flo ida, for a sur; sufficient to cover ail. of the improvements <br />necessary to be done is accordance with the requirements of the County <br />Engineer's Office. <br />Mr. Tom Trent, Civil Defense Director, appeared before the <br />Board to discuss inventory of the Defense Department. After much dis- <br />cussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that Mr. Trent be authorized to <br />make a trip to Jacksonville to be briefed on the complete operation of <br />the office. <br />BOOK 8 PA 0449 <br />
