WEDNESDAY, MARCH4, 1964 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a regular meeting <br />held at 8:00 o'clock, A. M., Wednesday, March 4, 1964. Present were D. B. <br />McCullers, Vice -Chairman, Donald Macdonald, Jerre J. Haffield and'B. Q. <br />Waddell. Absent was Robert W. Graves, Chairman. Also present were Ed <br />Schmucker, County engineer and Al Webber and Freda Wright, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Vice -Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions <br />to be made to the minutes of February 5 and February 19, 1964. There <br />were none and upon Motion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Haffield and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as <br />read. <br />Mr. Tensley, a representative of the Civil Defense Department <br />of Jacksonville, appeared before the Board and explained the procedure <br />necessary in order for the County to operate a full time Civil Defense <br />program and he explained also the procedure for obtaining Federal Aid <br />for this program. After further discussion, Motion was made by Commis- <br />sioner Macdonald, seconde by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously <br />carried, that we adopt the Civil Defense Program and that Tom Trent be <br />placed on full time employment, that he employ a clerk typist at a <br />salary of $220.00 per month and that a budget of county funds of <br />$1,310.00 for April, May and June, 1964 be authorized. <br />Lawrence Radak, Attorney, and Kenneth Atha appeared before <br />the Board and filed a petition for abandonment of a Park in Haven View <br />Subdivision. After some discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner <br />Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried <br />that the following Resolution be adopted. <br />• <br />
