1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />A_,9 i7 <br />TIIEDAY, NOVMER 6th, 1928. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at <br />the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, November 6th 1928 at 10 o'clock A.M.with <br />the following members of the Board present: John H. Atkint- Chairman; Geo., A.Braddock, <br />J. W. I,aBruce; J. J. P. Hamilton and 0. 0. Helseth. .Also present were Miles Warren, <br />Clerk and T.H.Sa.therlandq Sheriff. <br />The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />The Tax Collector filed his monthly report of licenses collected, showing the <br />sum of x$1124:50 collected for the State - and $562025 collected for the County. <br />The State auditor having completed his work of auditing the office of Tax Collector, <br />a report of some having been submitted to this Board was read by the Clerk, and it <br />vras ordered filed among the records of this Board. It was ordered that the Clerk <br />advise the State Auditor that this action has been taken. <br />Mr. Bert Kersey appeared before the Board regarding road in District #3. It was <br />ordered that the road in question be placed in passable condition. <br />Mr. J.F.Williams, age 80 applied for assistance from the County. It was ordered <br />that the Clerk instruct the County Nurse to call on him and make report to this Board. <br />It was ordered that J.R.A.11en, Vero Beach, be placed on the pauper list to receive <br />$10.00 per month and warrant be delivered to County Nurse for proper distribution. <br />It was ordered that road A-11 be graded one mile west of Lateral "A", Indian <br />River Famns Drainage District. <br />RESOLUTION. <br />MMIMAS, the Vero Beach Bank & Trust Company, of Vero Beach, Florida, duly desig- <br />nated and acting Depository for Indian River County, placed with the State Comptroller <br />the following securities, to -wit: <br />$3,000.00 Sarasota County Court House bonds. <br />$$7,000.00 Sarasota County Highway bonds <br />$109000.00 City of lake Worth Improivement bonds <br />AREAS said Bank closed its doors on the 30th day of October 19289 with more than <br />$1159000.00 of public County funds, coming under the jurisdiction of the County <br />Commissioners, on hand, and, <br />WHEREAS, it is imperative that the Uommissioners receive and realize on, or have <br />the State Comptroller to dispose of such securities, or a portion thereof, and convert <br />into cash in order to pay interest when due so as not to impair the credit of said <br />County or any political subdivision thereof coming under the jurisdiction of said Board. <br />THEREFORE, Be it Resolved, that the Board cf County Commissioners request the <br />Comptroller to transmit to this Board the securities mentioned, same to be sold for the <br />best obtainable price, as funds are needed, and applied to the credit of said closed <br />Depository, or in the event the said Comptroller is not permitted to transmit such <br />securities to this Board to sell and dispose of so much of said securities as deemed <br />advisable and forward the proceeds thereof to this Board and credit given for such <br />amounts. <br />The resolution being put to a vote was unanimously adopted. <br />On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried it was ordered that resolution <br />retofore adopted by this Board and of record at page 178 of these minutes be, and the <br />some is, hereby rescinded. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board <br />adjourned, subject to call of the Chairman. <br />91ATTEST.
