Mr. John Beidler, representing the Mosquito Control Commission, <br />appeared before the Board and stated that the Commission had decided to <br />discontinue the use of their hydraulic dredge at the end of their fiscal <br />year, October 1. 1965, and that it would be available at that time for <br />lease to the County, if the County was interested. He presented a few <br />facts and figures concerning the operation of the dredge and the Board <br />informed him that the offer would be taken ,into consideration. <br />Mr. Vincent Protheroe of Smith and Gillespie Engineers, Inc., <br />Jacksonville, Florida, spoke briefly on several methods of garbage disposal <br />and stated that if the Board felt it was a problem, his firm would make <br />a study of the situation to see what the most feasible and economical <br />method of garbage disposal would be now and in the foreseeable future. <br />The estimated cost of such a study would be between $7,000 and $12,000. <br />No action was taken. <br />The County Attorney presented the proposed Legislative <br />program to be submitted to the present Legislature for passage and <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell and unanimously carried, that the County Attorney is authorized <br />to advertise the proposed bills and that a public hearing be set for <br />March 24 at 10:00 A. M., or such other time as the Chairman of the Board <br />may select, and the Clerk was instructed to request Representative Art <br />Karst and Senator Merrill P. Barber to be present at the public hearing. <br />The County Attorney Presented leases between Julian W. Lowen- <br />stein and Lillian E. Lowenstein, His wife and Indian River County:and <br />Fred F. Liebert and Jewell Liebert, his wife, and A. L. Liebert, and <br />Indian River County on Lots 14, 15, and 16, Kansas City Colony. He also <br />presented an' opinion of title on the above parcels. Motion was made <br />by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously <br />carried that the Leases be approved and authorized the Chairman to execute <br />them on behalf of the County, that the original leases be recorded in the <br />Official Record Book in the Clerks office and that warrants be issued under <br />the terms of said leases. <br />s $ racF157 <br />f <br />i4114( 1U 1965 <br />
