7) contour line. Areas as designated by the COUNTY shall be <br /> delineated by the CONTRACTOR with continuous fencing and markers <br /> that are clearly visible at night. The CONTRACTOR shall not remove, <br /> cut, deface, injure, or destroy land resources including, but not limited to <br /> sand dune or berm vegetation, trees, shrubs, vines, grasses, top soil , <br /> structures, pavement, fencing, roadways, irrigation equipment and land <br /> form unless directed to do so by the COUNTY in the Plans. No ropes, <br /> cables, or guys shall be fastened to or attached to any trees for <br /> anchorage unless specifically authorized. The CONTRACTOR shall <br /> place all pipeline discharges 15 feet or more from dunes, structures, <br /> seawalls, or vegetation . Mechanical or manual means shall be used to <br /> place material in these areas and compaction equipment will not be used <br /> in these areas. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the <br /> replacement of any damaged or destroyed property or vegetation, to the <br /> satisfaction of the COUNTY. Failure to replace damaged or destroyed <br /> property or vegetation by the CONTRACTOR shall result in replacement <br /> by the COUNTY, and the cost of replacement shall be deducted from <br /> monies due or to become due to the CONTRACTOR. The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall be liable for any non-compliance with the <br /> conditions of the permits, easements and terms of this contract <br /> attributable to their personnel or subcontractors. <br /> 13 .2.2.2 Pollution Prevention . The CONTRACTOR shall continuously monitor <br /> and manage all construction activities to comply with the following <br /> environmental requirements for pollution prevention : <br /> 13 .2.2.2. 1 Pollution Control Facilities. The CONTRACTOR shall <br /> maintain constructed facilities and portable pollution control <br /> devices for the duration of the contract or for that length of <br /> time construction activities continue. <br /> 13 .2 .2.2.2 Air. The CONTRACTOR shall make all possible efforts to <br /> minimize air pollution. All activities, equipment, processes, <br /> and work operated or performed by the CONTRACTOR in <br /> accomplishing the specified construction shall comply with <br /> the applicable air pollution standards of the State of Florida <br /> (Chapter 403 Florida Statutes and others) and all Federal <br /> emission and performance laws and standards. <br /> 13 .2 .2.2.3 Noise. The CONTRACTOR shall make all possible efforts to <br /> minimize noise during fill placement operations. All hauling <br /> and excavating equipment, including dredges and booster <br /> pumps, used on this work shall be equipped with satisfactory <br /> mufflers or other noise abatement devices. The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall conduct these operations so as to <br /> comply with all Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to <br /> TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS Rev October 5, 2007 TS- 13 <br />
