B . Compensation : All compensation for maintenance of traffic including <br /> barricades (Type II ) , Barricades (Type III ) , Temporary Pavement , Off- Duty <br /> Police or Sheriff Deputy , Concrete Barrier (Temporary ) and vertical panels <br /> boards , shall be lump sum . This shall include all items and services <br /> necessary for the safe maintenance of traffic within the project limits . This <br /> shall include , but not be limited to , flaggers , construction and advisory <br /> signing , detours , temporary retaining systems , embankment , base material , <br /> asphaltic concrete , striping , cones , maintenance of pavement , asphaltic <br /> concrete curb , stormwater removal , temporary drainage structures and pipe , <br /> pumps , commercial material for driveway maintenance , flashing arrow <br /> boards , high intensity flashing lights , removable and temporary pavement <br /> markings , and temporary reflective pavement markers , temporary pavement , <br /> for maintenance of traffic . <br /> C . Non - Compliance : Should the Owner or Engineer determine that traffic within <br /> the project is not being maintained in accordance with the approved traffic <br /> control plan or presents a public safety concern , the contractor shall have <br /> until the end of the working day , in which notification is given , to take action <br /> to modify the maintenance of traffic . Should the contractor fail to make such <br /> modification the Owner shall have the option to fine the Contractor $400 per <br /> day until remedied . <br /> D . Payment shall be made under : <br /> Item No . 102- 1 Maintenance of Traffic - Lump Sum <br /> 104 . EROSION AND WATER POLLUTION CONTROL <br /> PART 1 — GENERAL <br /> 1 . 1 SCOPE <br /> A . This Section covers erosion control and the treatment of dewatering water <br /> and stormwater runoff from the construction site and work area . The <br /> pollution control measures shall prevent turbid or otherwise polluted waters <br /> from being discharged from the construction site or work area , to <br /> undeveloped portions of the site or off- site . <br /> B . The OWNER considers pollution from dewatering water and stormwater <br /> runoff from a construction site or work area to be a very serious offense . The <br /> CONTRACTOR is solely responsible for preventing pollution caused by <br /> dewatering water and stormwater runoff from the construction site or work <br /> area . <br /> C . The pollution control measures specified herein represent minimum <br /> standards to be adhered to by the CONTRACTOR throughout the Project' s <br /> construction . The OWNER reserves the right to require the CONTRACTOR <br /> to employ additional pollution control measures , when in the sole opinion of <br /> the OWNER , they are warranted .
