D . CONTROL WIRES : Shall be installed in a neat and orderly fashion <br /> underneath the main and lateral pipes , if possible . Ten - inch loops shall be <br /> provided at each valve where control wires are connected . All wires <br /> passing under existing or future paving , construction , etc . , shall be <br /> encased in plastic pipe as specified , extending at least twelve inches <br /> beyond edges of paving or construction . <br /> E . TESTING : All main lines shall be hydrostatically tested in the presence of <br /> the Owner' s representative at a pressure of 40 psi for a period of time not <br /> less than four (4 ) hours , should any leaks be found , they shall be repaired . <br /> The line shall then be retested until satisfactory . All lateral lines <br /> downstream from the remote control valves shall be visually inspected for <br /> leaks , should any be found , they shall be repaired . The line shall then be <br /> retested until satisfactory . <br /> F . BACKFILL AND COMPACTING : After system is approved or sections <br /> thereof, backfill excavations and trenches with clean soil , free of rubbish . <br /> Backfill for all trenches , regardless of the type of pipe covered shall be <br /> compacted to a minimum 90 % of its maximum density (AASHTO T- 180 ) . <br /> Dress off all areas to finish grades . <br /> G . PUMP ENCLOSURE : <br /> 1 . Pump house shall be allied fiberglass model FPH 4 x 4 or approved <br /> equal onto 4 " thick concrete slab . <br /> 2 . Provide adequate interior space for maintenance . Approx . size : 4 ' x <br /> 4 ' x 3 ' tall . Increase size if required by size of pump and pressure <br /> tank . <br /> 3 . Submit shop drawings for review prior to constructing . <br /> H . FINAL ADJUSTMENT : Balance and adjust the irrigation system <br /> components for efficient , proper operation . This includes controller <br /> synchronization as well as individual settings of control stations . <br /> 3 . INSTRUCTIONS : <br /> A . LABELS <br /> 1 . Number each zone valve box on underside of valve box cover with <br /> a black waterproof marker for reference . Numbers shall match the <br /> zone numbers on the drawings . <br /> 2 . Number each zone valve control wire at the controller with a <br /> waterproof marker and tags . Numbers shall match the zone <br /> numbers on the drawings . <br /> B . MAINTENANCE <br /> 1 .
