Dr. Ron Frambach appeared before the Board and outlined <br />a program for a retarded children rehabilitation center to be <br />organized and located in Fort Pierce. The same will serve Indian <br />River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties. The Commissioners <br />indicated that they would make a study of the program to determine <br />if they could participate in it. <br />Bill Roberson of the Florida Forrest. Service presented <br />slides of facilities that they have built and are maintaining in <br />various state parks of the State of Florida. These slides were <br />shown on request of Commissioner Macdonald who is on the committee <br />to make a study of same. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried, that the Beverage <br />Department be notified that the application of Carl Adkins, 5085 <br />North Gifford Road, for a Beer and Wine package sales only license, <br />does conform to the zoning regulations of the County. <br />The County Engineer presented a plan for the zoning of <br />the Gifford area which had been tentatively approved by the Zoning <br />Board. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Waddell and unanimously carried, that a public hearing be authorized <br />on that portion lying South of North Gifford Road and that portion <br />lying 1/2 mile East of Clemman Avenue. <br />Commissioner Waddell moved that the County Engineer be <br />authorized to make preliminary drawings and proceed with 27th Avenue <br />on an 80 foot right-of-way basis, and that he be authorized to <br />secure a title search. The motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and unanimously carried. <br />Commissioner McCullers moved that the insurance on the <br />fire trucks be continued with the Zeuch Agency, if agreeablewith <br />the Zeuch Agency, and, if refused, place the insurance with the <br />Rudy Hubbard Agency.
