Mr. Joe B. Egan introduced Father Hugh J. Flynn, Father Singleton <br />and Father Killelea, priests of St. Helen®s Catholic Church. Father <br />Flynn told the Board that he was flabbergasted at conditions of homes <br />visited in the Gifford, Wabasso and Fellsmere areas and urged the Board <br />to give serious consideration to create a Public Housing Authority to <br />qualify for Federal aid. He said he had visited the homes built in <br />Cocoa and Ft. Pierce with Federal Aid and they are beautiful. He pre- <br />sented the Board with a list of suggestions for follow up of Public <br />Housing Appeal. The Board agreed to study the request. <br />The County Engineer presented a request from Mr. Robert Lloyd that <br />the County shift a portion of Oslo Road which lies three_.L3)'.milesgest <br />of Rangeline onto the county right of way in order to straighten it out ° <br />and get it off private property. The request was referred to the Engineer, <br />who with Mr. Jennings, Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Graves, will view the area.: <br />The County Engineer reported that he feels the necessary improvements <br />have been completed in Vero Shores Unit #1, and is releasing and returning <br />the performance bond to General Development Corporation. <br />The County Engineer read a letter from General Development Corporation <br />requesting that they be allowed to retain the present bond provided by <br />Continental Casualty Co.for Vero Highlands Unit No. 2, inasmuchas they <br />expect to begin construction about February 1, 1967 and complete all work <br />by July, 1967. On Motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and carried, the Engineer was instructed to write General Dev- <br />elopment Corporation the following requests: <br />1. To advise the Board of the current status of their obtaining <br />title to the seven (7) lots in Vero Shores Unit 2. <br />2. To revise the Bond on Vero Highlands Unit No, 2 with the same <br />Surety, but to specifically include the items:lnnumerated in the <br />letter of June 22, 1966, written by County Engineer. <br />Commissioner Waddell moved, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and <br />carried that a request be made to the State Park Board to send someone <br />to investigate the 500 acres of land which has been recently released <br />by Hobart Brothers, and that the Board pay the necessary expenses from <br />Tallahassee. <br />The Engineer reported that he has received a quotation from Airco <br />AUG 10 1966 <br />NH racy 677 <br />
