i <br /> ARTICLE 30 <br /> HOLIDAYS <br /> 30 . 1 It is the policy of the County to observe holidays each year on a schedule <br /> determined by the Board of County Commission rs . <br /> The holidays which shall be observed under this olicy are : <br /> A . New Year' s Day <br /> B . Good Friday <br /> C . Memorial Day <br /> D . Independence Day <br /> E . Labor Day <br /> F . Veteran 's Day <br /> G . Thanksgiving Day <br /> H . Day after Thanksgiving <br /> I . Day before Christmas <br /> J . Christmas Day <br /> K . Personal Day (to be scheduled and approved in accordance with <br /> department' s vacation policy) <br /> L . Any other holidays authorized by the Board of County Commissioners <br /> 30 . 2 Permanent employees will receive holiday pay w ether or not they are scheduled <br /> to work on the holiday . Permanent employees not normally scheduled to work <br /> on the day of the week the holiday is being ot served will receive an average <br /> day' s wage as holiday pay . An average day's wage is defined as an employee ' s <br /> scheduled bkweekly pay divided by ten days . E ployees normally scheduled to <br /> work on the day of the week the holiday is bein observed shall receive holiday <br /> pay for the number of hours they are normally scheduled to work , even if that is <br /> more or less than an average day's wage . <br /> 30 . 3 Temporary employees , part-time employees hired on or after 6/22/01 , <br /> employees on unpaid leave of absence , and employees on layoff are not eligible <br /> for holiday pay . <br /> 30A To receive holiday pay , an employee must be in an " active pay status" on the <br /> scheduled work days immediately preceding and immediately following the day <br /> on which the holiday is observed . <br /> 30 . 5 For pay purposes , holidays will be the County recognized day of the holiday . <br /> 30 . 6 Holidays which occur during an employee's ann al leave or medical leave will be <br /> paid as holiday pay and shall not be chargec against such annual leave or <br /> medical leave . <br /> 42 <br />
