' 1 . 5 CONTRACTOR' S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUBMITTAL OF SHOP <br /> DRAWINGS , PRODUCT DATA AND SAMPLES <br /> ' A . The CONTRACTOR ' s responsibilities for submittal of shop drawings , <br /> product data , and samples are set forth in paragraph 6 . 17 of the General <br /> ' Conditions and as further explained herein . <br /> B . Prior to submission , thoroughly check shop drawings , product data , and <br /> ' samples for completeness and for compliance with the Contract <br /> Documents , verify all dimensions and field conditions , and coordinate the <br /> shop drawings with the requirements for other related work . Also review <br /> ' each shop drawing before submitting it to the ENGINEER to determine <br /> that it is acceptable in terms of the means , methods , techniques , <br /> ' sequences and operations of construction , safety precautions and <br /> programs incidental thereto , all of which are the CONTRACTOR' s <br /> responsibility. <br /> ' 1 . It is CONTRACTOR' S responsibility to review submittals made by <br /> his suppliers and Subcontractors before transmitting them to <br /> ENGINEER to assure proper coordination of the Work and to <br /> ' determine that each submittal is in accordance with its desires and <br /> that there is sufficient information about materials and equipment <br /> for ENGINEER to determine compliance with the Contract <br /> Documents . <br /> 2 . Incomplete or inadequate submittals will be returned for revision <br /> without review . <br /> ' C . The CONTRACTOR's responsibility for errors and omissions in submittals <br /> is not relieved by the ENGINEER's review of submittals . The <br /> ' CONTRACTOR shall approve the shop drawings based on his in -the-field <br /> measurements , prior to submittal to the ENGINEER for his review . <br /> ' D . Notify the ENGINEER , in writing at the time of submission , of deviations in <br /> submittals from the requirements of the Contract Documents . The <br /> CONTRACTOR's responsibility for deviations in submittals from the <br /> ' requirements of the Contract Documents is not relieved by the <br /> ENGINEER' s review of submittals , unless the ENGINEER gives written <br /> acceptance of specific deviations . <br /> E .
