SECTION 7 <br /> WASTEWATER AND RECLAIMED WATER FORCE MAINS <br /> POLYVINYL CHLORIDE PIPE <br /> 7 . 01 SCOPE <br /> This section covers polyvinyl chloride pipe and fittings for wastewater and <br /> reclaimed water force main . <br /> 7 .02 GENERAL <br /> Polyvinyl chloride ( PVC) pipe shall be allowed for use as wastewater and <br /> reclaimed water force main pipe where compatible with the specific <br /> conditions of the project. Indian River County Department of Utility <br /> Services ( IRCDUS ) may require the use of material , other than polyvinyl <br /> chloride , during construction permit review or by IRCDUS field personnel <br /> during construction if it is determined that polyvinyl chloride pipe is <br /> unsuitable for the particular application . <br /> 7 .03 PIPE MATERIALS FOR SIZES 4" THROUGH 12" <br /> A. All pipe and fittings intended for conveying or transmitting wastewater <br /> or reclaimed water shall be designed for a minimum working pressure <br /> of 150 psi . <br /> B . Polyvinyl chloride pressure pipe shall conform to AWWA Standards <br /> Specifications C900 latest revision , or C909 , latest revision and ASTM <br /> D1784 and D2241 , latest revision . PVC pressure pipe shall be made <br /> from Class 12454-A or Class 12454- 13 material and conform to the <br /> outside diameter of cast iron pipe with a minimum wall thickness of <br /> DR18 . <br /> C . Polyvinyl chloride pressure pipe less than 4" diameter shall be DR-21 , <br /> PR-200 . <br /> D . Polyvinyl chloride pipe shall be purchased per Approved <br /> Manufacturer's Product List, <br /> E . The pipe used for wastewater shall be green in color. The pipe used <br /> for reclaimed water shall be purple in color. <br /> 7 .04 PIPE MATERIALS FOR SIZES 14" THROUGH 36 " <br /> A. All pipe and fittings intended for conveying or transmitting <br /> wastewater or reclaimed water shall be designed for a minimum <br /> working pressure of 150 psi . <br /> B . Polyvinyl chloride pressure pipe shall conform to the latest AWWA <br /> Standards Specifications C905-97 and ASTM D1784 , latest <br /> revisions . PVC pressure pipe shall be made from Class 12454-A <br /> 7 - 1 <br />
