60 <br /> 2 . 3 COLLECTED STOCK <br /> A . When collected stock is permitted , the minimum ball size shall be equal to that <br /> specified for the next larger size of nursery grown stock of the same variety . <br /> 2 . 4 CONTAINER GROWN STOCK <br /> A . All container grown stock shall be healthy , vigorous , well- rooted plants and <br /> established in the container within which they are sold . The tops shall be in good <br /> quality and in a healthy growing condition . <br /> Be An established container grown plant shall be transplanted into a container and <br /> grown in that container sufficiently long for the new fibrous roots to have developed <br /> so that the root mass will retain its shape and hold together when removed from the <br /> container. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3 . 1 DIGGING AND HANDING <br /> A . Do not hold for planting more than the time recommended by the supplier and <br /> protect from excessive exposure and dehydration . Pack plant material during <br /> transport to prevent breakage and drying during transport . <br /> Be Do not handle plants by their stems . <br /> 3 . 2 PLANTING PROCEDURES <br /> A . For the Sea Oat liners Y2 cup of mix containing a water retaining gel <br /> and slow release fertilizer ( minimum 10oz of 18-6- 12 ) shall be added in each hole . <br /> The plants will be placed in the holes so that the roots are in contact with the gel . <br /> D . Plants shall not be planted until either after (a ) March 1st or ( b ) 30 days after <br /> placement and grading of sand to restore dunes by others - whichever occurs latest <br /> - to allow for an optimal chance of success of plant establishment .
