maintenance personnel unfamiliar with such equipment . The number and special <br /> requirements shall be as specified by the County , <br /> 2 . A factory representative of all major component manufacturers , who has complete <br /> knowledge of proper operation and maintenance, shall be provided for one ( 1 ) day to <br /> instruct representatives of the Owner and the Engineer on proper operation and <br /> maintenance. If there are difficulties in operation of the equipment due to the <br /> manufacturer's design or Contractor' s installation , additional service shall be <br /> provided by the Contractor at no cost to the Owner. <br /> 1 . 05 TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS <br /> A. One ( 1 ) set of all special tools required for normal operation and maintenance shall be <br /> provided. All such tools shall be furnished in a suitable steel tool chest complete with lock <br /> and duplicate keys . <br /> The manufacturer shall furnish a complete set of recommended spare parts necessary for the <br /> first five (5 ) years operation of the pumping system, which shall include at least the <br /> following : <br /> 1 . 1 - set of upper bearings for each pump supplied <br /> 2 . 1 - set of lower bearings for each pump supplied <br /> 3 , 1 - set of upper and lower shaft seals for each pump supplied <br /> 4 . 2 — replacement fuses for each installed fuse <br /> 5 . 1 — relay and phase monitor for each type supplied with the pump control panel <br /> 6 . 1 — spare impeller <br /> B . Spare parts shall be properly bound and labeled for easy identification without opening the <br /> packaging and suitably protected for long term storage. <br /> 1 . 06 WARRANTY <br /> A . All equipment supplied under this section shall be warranted for a period of one ( 1 ) year by <br /> the Contractor and the equipment manufacturers . Warranty period shall commence on final <br /> date when project is accepted by the. Owner. <br /> B . The equipment shall be warranted to be free from defects in workmanship, design and <br /> materials . If any part of the equipment should fail during the warranty period, it shall be <br /> replaced and the machine(s) and/or the unit(s) restored to service at no expense to the Owner. <br /> C . The manufacturer' s warranty period shall run concurrently with the Contractor's warranty <br /> period. No exception to this provision shall be allowed . <br /> PART 2 - EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS <br /> 2 . 01 PUMP FOUNDATION PLATES <br /> A. Each pump shall be furnished with a foundation base plate which shall be rigidly and <br /> accurately anchored into position . The pump manufacturer shall furnish all necessary <br /> foundation bolts, plates , nuts , and washers for installation by the Contractor. Each foundation <br /> plate shall be '/2 " thick, Type 316 stainless steel . Foundation bolts, nuts , washers , and spare <br /> parts shall be Type 316 stainless steel . <br /> 2 . 02 SEWAGE PUMPS <br /> 02539 — Submersible Pump Station (Rev, ) <br /> 02539-3 <br />
