Engineer shall make the final decision as to the acceptability of the well point system <br /> or any part thereof. _ <br /> The Contractor shall provide for the proper disposal of water removed from the <br /> excavation in a manner that will not cause injury to public health , private or public <br /> property , any portion of the work completed or in progress , the surface of the streets , <br /> or cause any impediments to the reasonable use of the site by other Contractors . The <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for complying with all the local regulations , <br /> St. Johns River Water Management District and the Department of Environmental <br /> Regulation regarding pollution of the surface waters . The Contractor shall take <br /> special precautions to eliminate any odor problems resulting from the discharge of <br /> sulfide water, such as submerged discharge outlets and overflow basins . <br /> C . Utility Relocation <br /> The existing utilities and irrigation system noted on the Plans to be relocated shall removed <br /> and relocated at the Contractor ' s expense. The contractor shall coordinate with the affected <br /> utility Owner to have the utilities adjusted as needed. The existing irrigation system shall be <br /> be removed (including existing wells) and a new system of equal capacity and components <br /> shall be installed in <br /> 3 . 02 INSTALLATION <br /> A. The station including wet well , valves and meter pits , valves , pumps , motor controls, electric <br /> system, and all accessories shall be installed at the locations as shown on the Drawings in <br /> accordance with the applicable Sections of these specifications . <br /> B . Backfilling - No backfill shall be placed until setting of the wet well and valve pits have <br /> been inspected and approved by the Engineer. Backfill shall be brought to within 3 inches of <br /> the surrounding finished grade surface. Backfill material shall be free of roots , logs , limbs , <br /> large rocks or any material or debris determined to be unsuitable by the Engineer. The <br /> backfill shall be placed in 12-inch layers and compacted to a minimum density of 95 % as <br /> determined by AASHTO T - 180 . <br /> C . Restoration - All ground surfaces damaged or disturbed by pump station installation either <br /> within or adjacent to the limits of lump sum pay item shall be restored to the condition which <br /> existed prior to pump station construction. <br /> D . Coating Preparation and Application - The surfaces requiring coating shall be prepared and <br /> surface coated by the Contractor in accordance with Division 09 . All other components shall <br /> remain as prepared and coated by their Manufacturer . The Contractor shall be responsible for <br /> touch-up or restoration of any finish coatings provided by the Manufacturer which may be <br /> damaged or scratched during shipping or installation . <br /> 3 . 03 TESTING <br /> A. Field Quality Control <br /> All systems and equipment shall be tested, under the observation of the Engineer and a <br /> representative of the Owner, to assure operation in accordance with the plans and <br /> specifications . All water, electricity, or other materials or services required for these tests <br /> shall be furnished by the Contractor at no cost to the Owner.
