Mr. Elmer Benson presented a petition signed by approximately <br />970 persons requesting.a catwalk under the center span of the east <br />section of the new Wabasso Bridge. The County Administrator was requested <br />to deliver the petition to the State Road Department in Ft. Lauderdale. <br />Mr. Thomas H. Trent, Civil Defense Director, appeared before the <br />Board and requested permission to sell a 1952 Chevrolet Truck, Surplus <br />equipment, which had been assigned to the Civil Defense Communications., <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Bogosian <br />and, unanimously carried, the request was granted. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian and unanimously carried, Mr.0...Trent was authorized to attend <br />a meeting for Civil Defense Directors to be held in Orlando on February tot <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Dritenbas and unanimously carried, the Board approved the expenditure <br />from Civil Defense Funds(received from the sale of surplus equipment) <br />for material and labor for a box to store the Source Set (cobalt), and <br />geiger counters, and a storage cabinet. <br />1 <br />Commissioner Macdonald moved, seconded by Commissioner BogoSian <br />and unanimously carried, that the Civil Defense Director be authorized <br />to have estimates made for.the air-conditioning of his office, to be <br />brought to the Board for approval. <br />The Deputy Clerk submitted. a list of new equi;lient and furniture <br />which will be required in the Clerk°s office when the Annex is completed. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Dritenbas moved that permission be <br />approved to advertise for the purchase of this equipment. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried. <br />The Board then recessed:°at 12:00 o'clock noon and reconvened at <br />1:15 P. M. <br />Mr. Bob Goodrick, Fish Biologist of the Game and Fresh Water <br />Fish Commission, appeared before the Board and requested a one acre <br />easement at Blue Cypress Lake for the purpose of building a new boat <br />ramp.
