2.2 MORTAR MATERIALS <br />A. Portland Cement: ASTM C 150, Type I or Type II, natural color, white, or a blend to produce mortar <br />color indicated. <br />60 <br />B. For and, use aggregate graded with 100 percent passing No. 16 (1.18 -mm) sieve. <br />D. Water: Potable, <br />2.3 GLASS UNIT MASONRY ACCESSORIES <br />A. Panel Reinforcement: Ladder -type units, butt welded, not lapped and welded; complying with <br />ASTM A 951 in straight lengths of not less than 10 feet (3 m), and as follows: <br />1. Exterior Walls: Stainless-steel wire. <br />2. Wire Size: W1.7 or 0.148 -inch (3.8 -mm) diameter. <br />3. Width: 2 inches (50 mm). <br />4. Spacing of Cross Rods: Not more than 16 inches (407 mm) apart. <br />B. Panel Anchors: Glass -block manufacturer's standard perforated stainless steel strips, 0.0359 inch (0.9 <br />mm) by 1-3/4 inches (44 mm) wide by 24 inches (600 mm) long. <br />C. Fasteners, General: Unless otherwise indicated, provide Type 304 or Type 316 stainless-steel fasteners at <br />exterior walls and zinc -plated fasteners with coating complying with ASTM B 633, Class Fe/Zn 5, at <br />interior walls. Select fasteners for type, grade, and class required. <br />D. Sealants: Manufacturer's standard chemically curing, elastomeric sealants of base polymer and <br />characteristics indicated below that comply with applicable requirements in Division 7 Section "Joint <br />Sealants." <br />1. Single -component, -curing silicone sealant. <br />2. Provide interior sealants that have a VOC content of 250 g/L or less when calculated according to <br />40 CFR 59, Subpart D (EPA Method 24). <br />E. Sealant Accessories: Provide sealant accessories, including primers, bond -breaker tape, and cylindrical <br />sealant backing, that comply with applicable requirements in Division 7 Section "Joint Sealants." <br />2.4 MORTAR MIXES <br />A. General: Do not use admixtures, including pigments, air -entraining agents, accelerators, retarders, or <br />antifreeze compounds, unless otherwise indicated. <br />1. Do not use calcium chloride in mortar. <br />2.
