r 1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br />A. Do not store sheet metal roofing materials in contact with other materials that might cause staining, <br />denting, or other surface damage. Store sheet metal roofing materials away from uncured concrete and <br />masonry. <br />B. Protect strippable protective covering on sheet metal roofing from exposure to sunlight and high <br />humidity, except to the extent necessary for the period of sheet metal roofing installation. <br />1.7 COORDINATION <br />A. Coordinate installation of roof curbs, equipment supports, and roof penetrations, which are specified in <br />other Sections. <br />B. Coordinate sheet metal roofing with rain drainage work, flashing, trim, and construction of sheathing, <br />parapets, walls, and other adjoining work to provide a leak proof, secure, and noncorrosive installation. <br />L8 WARRANTY <br />A. Special Warranty: Warranty form at the end of this Section in which Installer agrees to repair or replace <br />components of sheet metal roofing that fail in materials or workmanship within specified warranty period. <br />1. Failures include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />a. Structural failures, including but not limited to rupturing, cracking, or puncturing. <br />b. Wrinkling or buckling. <br />C. Loose parts. <br />d. Failure to remain weather tight, including uncontrolled water leakage. <br />e. Deterioration of metals, metal finishes, and other materials beyond normal weathering, <br />including non-uniformity of color or finish. <br />f. Galvanic action between sheet metal roofing and dissimilar materials. <br />2. Warranty Period: Two years from date of Substantial Completion. <br />B. Special Warranty on Finishes: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair <br />finish or replace sheet metal roofing that shows evidence of deterioration of factory -applied finishes <br />within specified warranty period. <br />1. Exposed Panel Finish: Deterioration includes, but is not limited to, the following: <br />a. Color fading more than 5 Hunter units when tested according to ASTM D 2244. <br />b. Chalking in excess of a No. 8 rating when tested according to ASTM D 4214. <br />C, Cracking, checking, peeling, or failure of paint to adhere to bare metal. <br />2.
