SECTION 02752 <br />CONCRETE PAVING <br />PART 1 -GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE <br />A. The work covered under this section shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the <br />construction of a stabilized subgrade and concrete paving upon said subgrade. <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Shop Drawings - Prior to providing the materials, Contractor shall furnish to the Engineer, for <br />review and approval, five (5) sets of shop drawings for: concrete mix; admixtures; steel <br />reinforcing; and joint sealer. All drawings shall be reviewed, approved and stamped by the <br />Contractor pursuant to the provisions of the General Conditions. <br />1.03 TESTING AND INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to the placement of any reinforcing steel or concrete, the Engineer and Contractor <br />Representatives shall check the finished subgrade section for line and grade. <br />B. The Contractor shall engage the services and pay for an independent testing laboratory to perform <br />tests for bearing values and density, prior to the placement of any reinforcing steel or concrete. <br />C. The Contractor shall engage the services and pay for an independent testing laboratory to perform <br />concrete cylinder compressive strength tests. <br />PART 2 - MATERIALS <br />2.01 EQUIPMENT <br />All equipment, materials and personnel necessary for the proper placing, finishing, and curing of the <br />concrete pavement shall be on theproject and in good working condition before the Contractor will <br />be permitted to begin placing concrete. Throughout the construction of the project, the Contractor shall <br />maintain the equipment in good working condition to assure the proper prosecution of the work. At a <br />minimum the following equipment shall provided: <br />A. Chutes, Wheelbarrows, Concrete Pumps — shall be provided where necessary to assure the <br />concrete is properly placed and spread with no undo delays. <br />B. Vibrators - Approved vibrators for consolidating concrete along the faces and corners of <br />forms and adjacent to joints shall be provided. All necessary power sources shall be provided <br />by the Contractor. <br />C. Hand tools - The Contractor shall famish all other equipment, hand tools (shovels, spades, hand <br />trowels, float trowels, etc.) and supplies which are necessary for the proper prosecution of the <br />work. <br />D. Leveling Equipment - Unless otherwise approved by the Engineer in writing, the Contractor <br />shall provide mechanical equipment of either the slip form or form paving type which will <br />02752 — Concrete Paving <br />02752-1 <br />
