The Board then recessed at 12:00 noon and reconvened at 1:40 P.M.
<br />The Clerk having tabulated the bids for equipment reported to the
<br />Board. Mr. J. Oscar Stroberg, representing Diebold, Inc.:;:: appeared before
<br />the Board and spoke of the advantages of the Legal Diebold Power Shelf
<br />File, After considerable discussion, Motion::was made:. lby.:.Commiss-ioner-:t
<br />Macdonald that the Board finds that the bid of Diebold, Inc., is $78.00
<br />more than the lowest bid by Acme Visible Records, Inc., but the Board
<br />finds that the Diebold bid is the best bid because the service facilities
<br />offered are better, the Diebold facility provides lighting attached to
<br />the file, has a mechanical safety feature and nylon roller bearings for
<br />a quieter operation, which, in the judgment of the Board makes their
<br />bid the lowest and best bid; and that the bid of Diebold, Inc, in the
<br />amount of $3,530.00 be accepted for Item No. 11A. Motion was seconded
<br />by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried.
<br />Motion was made by Commissioner Dritenbas, seconded by Commissioner
<br />McCullers and unanimously carried that the low bid of George Stuart, Inc.,
<br />for Item Nos. 4A, 4B, 12C, 19A, 33,34, 34A, 35, 36, 37, 38,. 39, 39A, 40,
<br />41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 1B, 1A, 1C, 4A, 10A, 3A, 3B, 5A, 50, 51,
<br />4CD, 527, 4B, 6B, 52, CL -1, C1-3, SO -1, SO -2, SO -3, SO -4, 1-R, for a
<br />total of $20,939.95; and the low bid of O'Haire Office Equipment Company
<br />for Item Nos. 84B and 60, for a. total of $1,241.73; and the low bid of
<br />International Business Machines for Item No. Cb -2, for machines for:the
<br />Clerk' -s office, for a total of $1,764.00, be accepted and the order
<br />placed accordingly.
<br />Commissioner Macdonald reported that the Trustees of the Internal
<br />Improvement Fund have approved the dedication of the 491.04 acres, known
<br />as the Hobart property, to Indian River County for public park and re-
<br />creational purposes. He also presented a letter from the Kiwanis Club
<br />in which they propose the name "Kiwanis-Hobart Park of Indian River
<br />County" for this recreational area. Upon Motion by Commissioner Mac-
<br />donald, seconded
<br />ac-donald,seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried,
<br />the name proposed was officially designated as the name for the park.
