Motion was made by Commissioner Dritenbas, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian and unanimously carried that the form of application for average <br />rate, submitted by the Ed Schlitt Agency, covering the buildings and <br />contents policies of the County's insurance be approved, and the Chair- <br />man be directed to execute 'it on behalf of the Board; further, that the <br />Ed Schlitt Agency be designated as agent of record for the County's <br />buildings and contents insurance and that the Chairman be directed to <br />advise the Florida Inspection and Rating Bureau by letter. <br />Mr. Frank Clavelin and Mr. Clint Fredell, representing the <br />Fellsmere Volunteer Fire Department, submitted a request for financial <br />assistance in order that the following proposals can be accomplished: <br />1. Bring Roster up to full strength - 30 men. <br />2. Insure these 30 men. Extimated cost $250.00 <br />$5000 accidental death -$40.00 week salary supplement. <br />3. Bring all existing equipment up to a satisfactory condition: <br />(A) Trucks - Periodic inspection and maintenance. <br />(B) . Pumps <br />2 reserve pumps <br />cost $400. <br />(C) Hoses - replace all <br />new nozzles <br />4. Construct high level water <br />emergency use. <br />(A) Behind City Hall at well <br />(B) Carter Hall S/D at well <br />(C) Raise pipe on well on State Road 507 <br />5. Purchase equipment suitable for fighting gas and electrical fires <br />6. Set up instruction classes for new Volunteer Firemen. <br />7.. Set up faster and better alarm systems than is presently used <br />After discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Bogosian that, <br />subject to whatever requirements as far as auditing procedures are con- <br />cerned, that the Board allocate $1,000.00 from the Contingency fund to <br />be used as specified in the memorandum from the Fellsmere Volunteer Fire <br />Department •(listed above); and that an Item to Item transfer from Account <br />No. 951, Contingency to Account No. 682, Fire Control, of $1,000.00, <br />General Fund, be authorized.
