II6sultants, <br /> 14 December 2005 <br /> Page 3 <br /> participating in on- site meetings (two) and teleconference calls regarding the <br /> project ; <br /> • <br /> preparing construction bid documents specifications ,ons , and drawings fcr the UST <br /> closure/AST installation, and coordinating with Indian River County <br /> Department of Health and Brevard County Department of Natural ',Resources <br /> Protection (responsible for County petroleum-related activities) ; <br /> • evaluating submitted subcontractor proposals ; and <br /> • selecting a subcontractor for performing the UST closure/ Source Removal/AST <br /> Installation activities . <br /> GeoSyntec prepared bid specifications (which were reviewed by IRCDUS ) , <br /> drawings , and a schedule of prices suitable for subcontractor bidding of the petroleum <br /> related work . GeoSyntec received price quotes from two subcontractors qualified to <br /> perform the scope of services related to the UST closure, source removal activities , and <br /> AST installation . The review of bids revealed a bid of $ 212 , 780 . 50 by PR&D and a bid <br /> of $ 159 , 386 by Florida Environmental Compliance Corporation (FECC) . GeoSyntec <br /> recommends FECC as the petroleum contractor based upon bid cost and source removal <br /> experience working as a subcontractor to GeoSyntec in Indian River County and at the <br /> Kennedy Space Center. Bid pricing information is included as Attachment A . A <br /> detailed breakdown of estimated project costs is included as Attachment B . <br /> Phase B — UST Closure/Source Removal Activities <br /> Phase B includes project activities associated with implementing the UST closure <br /> and source removal activities , including the following tasks : <br /> • install and operate a dewatering system with the objective of lowering 'the water <br /> table to a minimum of 8 ft below land surface within the proposed excavation <br /> area ; <br /> R0500 / <br /> 83 XR05088 — UST Closure Cost Proposal <br />
