A Motion was made by CommissionerMacdonald, <br />seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carriedthat the County <br />agrees with the Hospital District to place a land and canal culvert <br />to join 18th and l9th Avenues to 26th Street on a time and material <br />basis. It is understood that the Hospital will provide detailed <br />engineering plans, a permit from the Indian River Farms Drainage <br />District and that the project will be under the supervision of the <br />Hospital Engineer, R. D. Carter Engineering'Firm, and `that .it <br />;will bec:paid for by the Hospital "District. <br />Mr. Sam Joyce, Sheriff, appeared before the Board stating <br />that the <br />insurance' for his high hazard employees was at the discretion' <br />of the Board of County Commissioners. After considerable discussion, <br />on a Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Dritenbas, it was unanimously carried that the County Attorney be <br />instructed to publish legal notice requesting, bids be submitted for <br />furnishing all the insurance presently provided by American Bankers <br />Life and Assurance Company of Florida to the Sheriff andhis <br />employees in the present policy, specifically includingliability <br />imposed by 67-408, Laws of Florida. <br />Mrs. O'Brien of the Economic Opportunities Council appeared be- <br />fore the Board reporting on the progress of the Council and stating <br />the need for equipment and personnel. On a Motion made by Commissioner <br />Bogosian, seconded by Commissioner McCullers, it was unanimously <br />carriedthat the Board complete sections 2 and 3 of the application <br />to the Government for assistance in this project and that the <br />application be returned to Mrs. O'Brien. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner Bogosian, secondedby <br />Commissioner Dritenbas and unanimously carried, the preliminary plat• <br />of Low's Park Subdivision was tentatively approved, subject to <br />compliance with the following provisions: <br />FEB 7 1968 <br />BUK ,PA 9. <br />
