WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1968 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida met in regular session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, <br />Florida on Wednesday, February 21, 1968, at 8:30 o'clock A. M. <br />Present were Robert W. Graves, Chairman; D. B. McCullars, Vice- <br />chairman; Donald Macdonald, Jack U. Dritenbas and Richard P. <br />Bogosian. Also present were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; <br />Sherman N. Smith, Jr., CountyAttorney; and Alfred H. Webber and <br />Janet N. Burriss, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and at the request <br />of Thomas H. Trent, Civil Defense Director, a Motion was made by <br />Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Coxnmissioner Macdonald and <br />unanimously carried authorizing the Director to request a <br />feasibility study of the old jail building with the idea of <br />converting it into an Emergency. Operating Center. Civil Defense is <br />to conduct the study at no expense to the County. <br />Mr. Mutinsky appeared before the Board stating that: he had <br />a 1963 agreement with the County in which a. five acre strip <br />was to have been used by the Countyas a buffer between Mr. <br />Mutinsky's property and the landfill., operation. He stated that <br />the County had been using thisstrip for junked cars and the <br />burning of these caused an odor situation; he also stated that <br />the City often dumped their refuse at a time when no equipment <br />was available to cover it until several hours later. The <br />Administrator advised Mr. Mutinsky that the junked cars were <br />soon to be cleared off, that the operation itself was moving <br />farther away from Mr. Mutinsky's property and that one of the <br />access roads would be closed. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried that the Frank <br />Zorc Subdivision, Suncrest Terrace be tentatively apprdved <br />FEB 2 11958. <br />cool 11 ilf1E O2 <br />
