EXHIBIT A
Atkins North America, Inc.
482 South Keller Road
Orlando, Florida 32810-6101
Telephone: + 1 .407 .647 . 7275
www . atkinsalobaI . com / northamerica
November 4 , 201 1
Mike Hotchkiss
Capital Projects Manager
Indian River County
1801 27th Street .
Vero Beach , FI 32960
Dear Mike ,
As we discussed on the phone , just after we have finished the building drawings based on the
previous changes requested for the roll -off dumpster , Waste Management ( WM ) provided a
dumpster drawing that illustrates a much larger dumpster than the previously agreed 6 ' x8 '
dumpster. In your may 3 , 2012 e - mail you asked how much revised building and additional
engineering would cost for the changes . We contacted the WM to coordinate the dumpster size
and they indicated they can live with a 6 ' x8 ' dumpster . We contacted the building manufacturer
also for the additional building cost . Since the building size did not change significantly , the
additional cost was estimated to be about only $ 3000 . 00 ; however the building manufacturer
indicated for this size of a building , a masonry building may also be cost effective . At that time
we indicated to you that we will accommodate the building changes without any additional
compensation . Structural , mechanical and electrical drawings were changed as illustrated in the
submitted set .
On May 29 , WM sent a dumpster drawing through Richard Meckes , which shows a dumpster
size of 99 . 375 " X120 " . We contacted WM again and this time they indicated they can make the
length 96 i . e . 8 ' - 0" , however due to track roller placement , the width cannot be reduced
from
99 . 375 inches . This presents another challenge . The roll - up doors are only 9 ' - 0" wide due to the
on - site space constraints . To accommodate the wider dumpster, the doors need to be wider that
means the building has to be changed once again . The building does not have space to grow
especially towards the plant drain pump station . Only way to accommodate the changes is to
change the building to a masonry building to optimize the corner and middle support column
design to provide a wider roll -up door opening .
