This may not be the most
efficient and cost effective way to provide such services to our residents . For that reason , the
Board of County Commissioners would like to extend an invitation to the City Council to engage
in policy level discussions to explore cooperative opportunities that may exist between the two
systems .
The Board would be willing to begin the process by making a detailed presentation to the City
Council , outlining the physical assets of the County system , its fiscal status , the geographical
areas served , etc . The objective would be to provide the City Council with updated , complete
information about the County ' s system . If the City Council so desires , the County would
welcome a similar detailed presentation to the Board about the City ' s system .
Presently , there appears to be much misinformation about the County ' s systems . The County .
would welcome a list of written questions from the City Council and Staff, which the County
would respond to in writing , beginning an open and transparent process which keeps both the
City and County and their residents informed about the systems of both the City and the County .
After that , the parties could engage in policy level discussions to explore cooperative
opportunities . The Board firmly believes that much can be gained if the City and County work
together to provide service to our residents .
Building A
180127 Ih Sheet
Vero Beach, FL 32960-3388
Telephone : 772 - 226- 1490 FAX: 772 - 770- 5334
