Indian River County VERTICAL DENSIFICATION PROJECT 2011 July 25 , 2011 Page 2 of 6 Reconnaissance The CONSULTANT will recover published control and determine suitable locations for newly established benchmarks to be Blue Booked . The CONSULTANT will prepare field notes and take digital photography of existing stations . Adequate coordination with Call Sunshine - underground locates will be performed for each location assuring clearance of underground utilities of conflicts prior to any excavations . Monumentation The CONSULTANT will establish new monuments of sufficient stability to be Blue Booked in the vertical network . All new benchmarks will be referenced with three ( 3 ) or more witness monuments , and a flexible survey witness post . All Twenty-six (26 ) of the monuments will be of aluminum alloy rod construction . Said monuments will be required to meet NGS Class " B" stability. A maximum of twenty-six (26 ) newly constructed monuments are included in this contract . Task 02 : Vertical Measurements The CONSULTANT will use digital leveling methods to create a closed level network . This network will have sufficient redundancy to achieve the required project accuracy of a minimum of Second order, Class 2 as stated in the FGCS publication Specifications and Procedures to Incorporate Electronic Digital/ Bar-Code Leveling System version 4. 1 5/27/2004. Vertical measurements will be performed using a Trimble Dini 22 Digital Level and two ( 2 ) Invar type rods . Task 03 : Adjustments/ Reports/ Blue Book Submittal The CONSULTANT will perform computations and adjustments necessary for proper Quality Control / Quality Assurance as they relate to the required accuracies . The CONSULTANT will prepare Blue Book digital files , field documentation , and reports necessary for submittal to , and eventual publication by NGS according to the latest NGS Blue Book specifications : Input Formats and Specifications of the National Geodetic Survey Data Base VOL. I, dated 1994 and 1998 . The vertical values will be furnished to the COUNTY in U . S . Survey feet ; relative to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 ( NAVD88 ) .
