FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, 1968
The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida
met in special session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach on Friday,
December 27 at 2:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Jack U. Dritenbas,
Chairman, Donald Macdonald and Richard P. Bogosian. Also present were
Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; Sherman N. Smith, Jr., County
Attorney and Alfred H. Webber, Deputy Clerk.
The Chairman called the meeting to order and upon a Motion made
by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Bogosian, the
following Resolution was unanimously adopted:
RESOLUTION NO. 68- 77
The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,
Florida, resolves:
1. That this Board does herewith endorse, approve and urge the
speedy consummation of the plan of the Florida Outdoor Recreational
Development Council or other state agency for the acquisition of land for a
public park to be established in this county in the area between the Atlantic
Ocean and the Indian River and South of the Sebastian Inlet. This Board is of
the view that this large area, substantially undeveloped with a long stretch of
fine beach along the Atlantic Ocean and a long area bordering on the Indian
River, is ideally suited for a public park and that it would be of great benefit
not only to the citizens of this county but also to the entire State of Florida.
2. Be it further resolved that certified copies of this Resolution
be forwarded to Florida Outdoor Recreational Development Council, the
Governor and the Members of the Cabinet of the State of Florida.
There being no further business, on Motion made, seconded and
carried the Board then adjourned at 2:a5 o'clock • M.
ATTEST:
CLERK
DEC 2 7
