WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 1969 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida met in regular session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, <br />Florida on Wednesday, April 9, 1969 at 8:30 o'clock A. M. <br />Present were Jack U. Dritenbas, Chairman; Richard P. Bogosian, <br />Vice Chairman; D. B. McCullers, Jr.; Alma Lee Loy and Edward J. <br />Massey. Also present were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; <br />Sherman N. Smith, Jr., County Attorney; and Alfred H. Webber <br />and Janet N. Burriss, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and asked if there <br />were any corrections or add.i.tions to the minutes of March 19. <br />There were none and upon a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, <br />seconded by Commissioner Loy the minutes were unanimously approved <br />as written. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Loy the Minutes of March 26 were unanimously approved <br />as written. <br />Samuel Hunter, President of Urban Development Utilities, Inc., <br />appeared before the Board in regard to the rates which were being <br />charged by Urban Development Utilities, and the reasons for <br />discontinuance of services to some of the consumers. A Motion <br />was made by Commissioner Bogosian, seconded by Commissioner <br />Massey and unanimously carried that Urban Development Utilities, <br />Inc., be instructed to conform to the terms of the original <br />franchise providing for rates of $3.00 for water and $3.00 for <br />sewer and that arty overcharges which have been made shall be <br />subject to adjustment by future credit; and that the Board of <br />County Commissioners recognizes that water and sewer users must <br />pay, in accordance with the rates incorporated in the franchise, <br />for services used, and if such payment is not received the <br />franchise holder has the right to discontinue service; and the <br />Board furtherrecognizes the fact that no one has the ri ht to <br />AIR 91969 690KPA 15 <br />tamper with or make changes onany property of 12he franchise <br />
