Highway 1 Right- of-Way Clearing <br /> Dear Mr . Wolfe , <br /> The County has received requests from the public to clear a portion of U . S . Highway 1 ( US1 ) right. <br /> of-way in northern Indian River County . The location is on the east side of US1 , .immediately south <br /> of the US1 Bridge at the Brevard County - / Indian River County boundary . The area requested for <br /> clearing is 1 . 8 acres in size and is outlined in red on the attached aerial map . <br /> There is a small park . and picnic area just south of the site . Removing the non - native trees <br /> and <br /> exotic vegetation from this area would . increase visibility of the Lagoon , improve public access to the <br /> shoreline and provide greater recreational opportunities . <br /> Indian River County takes great pride in this northern gateway area and . we believe : this . clearing <br /> project , similar to the gateway landscaping being installed in - association with the south US1 <br /> widening project , will leave a positive impression with motorists entering/leaving our County . <br /> Thank you for your consideration .
