of outdoor advertising structures , permits and other related information maintained by the Department .
Also , reference the Florida Highway Beautification Program website link for " Vegetation Management
at ODA signs" "Florida Statutes " and "Florida Administrative Code" related to vegetation management at
outdoor advertising sign , permit applications for vegetation management and determining mitigation
value of roadside vegetation .
II . Specific Project Site Maintenance Reguirements and Recommendations :
The overall design is intended to be xeriscape and very low maintenance . No shrubs and hardscape
elements are proposed within the project limits . The medians currently have some existing Sabal and
Washingtonia palms to remain . Only trees and palms will be added to the medians . No proposed
landscape will be added to the edges of the right of ways .
The medians will utilize two new irrigation systems , each water source is a well located in the medians .
The irrigation systems are designed to provide minimal overlap with enough water provided to establish
the proposed plantings .
All trees and palms within sight restricted areas must be maintained with a clear trunk as shown in the
typical median section detail in the plans and Index 4546 . All other vegetation will be trimmed as needed
to promote a uniform and healthy appearance and to meet all FDOT safety criteria.
