EXHIBIT A TO WORK ORDER NO. L-1 WITH G. K. ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. <br />LANDSCAPING AND WETLAND PLANTING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 SCOP <br />A. This work consists of furnishing all labor, supervision, material, equipment, <br />transportation, etc., to complete all landscaping work and wetland planting work <br />at Egret Marsh Stormwater Park for the areas shown on the Drawings, and as <br />herein specified. No landscaping or wetland plantings are required at the lateral <br />"D" canal pumping station site. Work shall also involve the removal of invasive, <br />exotic species, and continual maintenance and removal of exotics for the times <br />specified herein. <br />B. All native trees (including cabbage palms) are to be protected, and preserved. <br />1.2 INITIAL EXOTIC REMOVAL <br />A. Kill all exotics on the entire project site. Preserve all native vegetation and trees. <br />B. Much of the perimeter of the property and the interior is infested with exotic <br />vegetation (e.g. Brazilian pepper, Australian pine, tropical soda -apple, etc.). Hand - <br />clear and remove all exotics from these areas. Mechanical clearing is not allowed in <br />these areas. Do not disturb native vegetation. <br />C. Cut all exotic trees flush with the existing grade and no higher than 4 inches above <br />ground surface and spray or brush (as appropriate) each stump with an approved <br />herbicide within 15 minutes after cutting. Re -treat with approved herbicide as <br />required to ensure that no regrowth occurs. Approved herbicides include, but are <br />not limited to, RoundUp, Rodeo, Garlon 4A, or equivalent products applied in <br />accordance with the manufacturers label recommendations and state laws with the <br />Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). <br />D. All herbicide must be applied by an individual possessing a State (FDACS) Certified <br />herbicide application license of the appropriate class. Provide the OWNER with a <br />copy of the individual's license before herbicide application. <br />E. Vines growing in trees do not need to be pulled out of the tree canopy. Cut the <br />vines and carefully treat each vine and stump at the base with approved herbicide, <br />leaving the remaining severed vines in the tree canopy.
