1 <br />1 <br />i <br />46 <br />The hour of 2 o'clock P.M. having arrived, and in compliance with published notice <br />that the Board would receive sealed bids for the construction of a permanent or tempor- <br />ary jail bids were received and opened as follows: <br />Southern Prison Company. San .Antonio, Texas <br />Pauly Jail Building Co . , <br />After, considerable discussion and after the Board had given careful consideration <br />to each bid and the various and sundry propositions, on -motion made,seconded and <br />carried it was ordered that the building of a 'jail be awarded to Pauly Jail Building <br />Company to build and construct a jail canplete for the sum of 022,000.00 according to <br />proposition 116. 2 plan #1091. <br />It was ordered that the Clerk prepare notice that the Board would receive sealed <br />bids for the acquisition of a lot suitable for jail purposes, and would receive such <br />proposals up to 2 o'clock P .M.Saturday, July 27th 1929 for same. <br />On motion made, seconded and carried the Board adjourned until Saturday, July <br />27th 1929 at 2 o'clock P.M.for the purpose of considering any and all proposals for <br />a jail site. <br />ATTEST: <br />Chai rm.an <br />C 1 e rk. <br />SATURDAY, MY 27th 1929. <br />The Board of County. Commissioners in .and for Indian River County, Florida, met <br />at the Court _House in Vero Beach, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. Saturday, July 27th, 1929, with <br />the following members of the Board present: J.D.Yongue; J.J.P.Hamilton and John H..Atkin. <br />The Chairman being absent, on motion made, seconded and carried, John It. Atkin, <br />was named Th4=ary Chairman. <br />The temporary Chairman announced <br />the meeting was <br />called <br />for the purpose <br />of <br />receiving proposals for the acquisition <br />of the jail site <br />and/or <br />Uourt House and <br />jail <br />site in accordance with published notice heretofore given. <br />The proposals on file were opened and read as follows: <br />Ralph Sedgwick and Lucy M.Baird: Dots 9 and 10 Uity Hall Block,Uity of <br />Vero Beach 50x100 ft. for the sum of X4500.00 <br />J.M.Knight: Any 5 acres of land in Braeburn Park, fres, provided Court <br />Cou.se is erected thereon. <br />J.M.Knight: 2 lots in Sdgewood Addition to Vero Beach -size 100x200 ft. <br />assessments and taxes paid to date for C12500.00 <br />E.J.Waod: West 3.6 acres of 8J of SW- of S Sec 36 Tp 32 S R 39 E for <br />03600.00 <br />Vero Arcade <br />Investment <br />Co: <br />All Block 27 Original Town of Vero for the <br />sum of 014,000.001 subject to <br />all taxes <br />and <br />assessments. <br />Pilary T.Roach: Lot 10 Blk 19 Highland Park /D for X300.00 <br />H.Carlswa.rd: Lot 9 Blk 1 Osceola Part 100x150 ft for $2500.00 <br />Mrs C.E.Rieche: Block 4 Original town of Vero Beach for 04000.00 <br />Edwin B.VTIarren: Lot 8 ]alk 6 Usceola Park free of all Street, sanitary <br />sewer; storm sewer and side -walk assessments for the sura of ;887.00. <br />Only three members of the Board present, on motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board adjourned until Tuesday, July 30th 1929 to further consider the proposals on <br />file. <br />`1'he Board then adjourned until Tuesday, July 30th 1929. <br />U1erk <br />
