A report was received -from Leslie Crain, hydrologist, on the <br />drilling being done by the Division of Geology on the Water Survey <br />Program. <br />A letter was received from M. L. Beasley and Associates offering <br />services of public interest and information to the County at a cost <br />of $1,800.00 per year. No action was taken by the Board. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian and unanimously carried that this Board does support <br />the coming project of the Vero Beach Life Underwriters Association <br />to beautify the County. <br />Upon a Motion made by Commissioner.Bogosian, seconded by <br />Commissioner Massey, Fred J. Prestin, Civil Defense Director and <br />any other County Official who may wish to,attend, were unanimously <br />authorized to attend the Disaster Preparedness Seminar to be <br />held in Orlando on April 30. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner Massey, seconded by Commissioner <br />Loy, the applications for pistol permits of Florence C. Turner, <br />Everett E. Davis and Dorsey H. Newby; and the applications for <br />renewal of pistol permits of Rudy Hubbard, Marvin W. Knight and <br />Arthur M. Hill, Jr. were unanimously approved. <br />The Sheriff filed with the Board a statement of his appointment <br />of Merwyn T. Lassiter whose voting precinct is 3 A , as Deputy <br />Sheriff and the said Deputy Sheriff filed his bond with the Clerk <br />of the Circuit Court, which was presented to the Board. On a <br />Motion made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner Massey <br />and unanimously carried the bond of said Deputy Sheriff was approved <br />and ordered filed with the Clerk of the Circuit Court. <br />The monthly report of the County Service Officer and the <br />Rel)brt:of Inspection of County Jails and County Prisons were received <br />and ordered filed in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner Massey, seconded by Commissioner <br />Loy and unanimously carried that the out of County travel of Forrest <br />N. McCullars, County Extension Director, to Okeechobee on March 26 <br />to attend a Dairy Clinic; to University of Florida to attend H <br />L APR 8 1970 1 � ,A <br />
