.,�tiA• � � R°r � 4 ��� M Yw_7 • 4.d � k k 4r ♦ Rr s � i <br />WEDNESDAY, MAY 6, 1970 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida met in regular session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, <br />Florida on Wednesday, May 6, 1970 at 8:30 o'clock A. M. Present <br />were Jack U. Dritenbas, Chairman; Richard P. Bogosian, Vice <br />Chairman; D. B. McCullers, Jr.; Alma Lee Loy and Edward J. Massey. <br />Also present were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; Paul D. <br />Burch, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Alfred H. <br />Webber, and Janet N. Turpan, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and asked if there. <br />were any additions or corrections to the Minutes of April 22. <br />there were none and upon a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, <br />seconded by Commissioner Loy, the Minutes of April 22 were <br />unanimously approved as written. <br />Dewey Walker, County Zoning Inspector, appeared before the <br />Board and reported on the removal of zoning violations. <br />Ross H. Long of Tropicolony Subdivision appeared in regard to <br />swimming in the Tropicolony Park pond. He requested that the sign <br />reading "Swim at Your Own Risk" be removed and not replaced at all <br />or replaced with one reading "Positively No Swimming". A Motion <br />was made by Commissioner Bogosian, seconded by Commissioner Loy <br />and unanimously carried that the existing sign at the Tropicolony <br />Park pond be removed and replaced with one prohibiting swimming. <br />Hugh W. Penuel, Juvenile Counselor, appeared in regard to <br />the hiring ofaFlorida State University Student for three of the <br />summer months. A Motion was made by Commissioner Massey, seconded <br />by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously.carried that the request <br />of Hugh W. Penuel to hire a Florida State University Student <br />for three of the summer months on internship, compensation to be <br />arranged at a later date, be approved. <br />Letters were received from Fred Prestin, Civil Defense Director, <br />and from the Florida State University Extension Program commending <br />the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners o, MAY the. <br />-� LCIS <br />' <br />
