Commissioner Massey, the request of Sam Joyce, Sheriff to
<br />advertise for bids for a new commercial air conditioner for
<br />the jail, cost to be between $1,100.00 and $1,200.00 was
<br />unanimously approved.
<br />James V. Slade and Mrs. Mable Michael Appeared before
<br />the Board in regard to the Wilderness Act in regard to the
<br />Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge. On a Motion made I
<br />by Commissioner Massey, seconded by Commissioner Loy, it was
<br />unanimously carried that the Administrator be instructed to
<br />write to Congressman Frey regarding the Wilderness Act and
<br />that a copy of the Pelican Island brochure be enclosed.
<br />The hour of 9:30 o'clock A. M. having passed, the Chairman .
