ok <br /> Hydro"1r r"d South Relief Canal Algal Turf Scrubber@ Pilot Program <br /> The blended water shall be delivered at a maximum rate of about 20 gpm to the ATSTM <br /> automatic self-siphoning surge device at the ATSTm headworks which introduces water in <br /> pulse discharges to the floway . The delivery piping system shall allow for regulation of flow <br /> rate between 10 and 20 gpm . An in - line influent ultrasonic flow meter shall be used to <br /> document totalized flows of the canal water . The Utilities Department shall provide the <br /> pump and flow meter with totalizer associated with the RO Concentrate . The Utilities <br /> Department will also load the Concentrate Tank , if required , with fresh RO Concentrate . <br /> As noted , canal water inflow shall be blended with the RO Concentrate at a target ratio of <br /> 6 : 1 to 10 : 1 canal water to Concentrate and the blend provided to the MPU self- siphoning <br /> surger at an initial rate of 20 gpm . Flow rate and blend adjustments shall be made based <br /> upon actual field conditions and system performance . <br /> HydroMentia , Inc . under contract with Indian River County , shall operate the field test unit <br /> for a period of 6 months ( 26 weeks ) . HydroMentia ' s designated operational manager shall <br /> be experienced in conducting water quality sampling and maintaining records in <br /> conformance with FDEP ' s requirements per DEP- SOP- 001 /01 FS 1000 March 31 , 2008 <br /> (effective 12/3/2008 ) . Laboratory methods and MDL and PQL shall be as delineated within <br /> DEP- SOP- 001 /01 FS 1000 March 31 , 2008 (effective 12/3/2008 ) and Federal Register Vol <br /> 72 NO . 47 and as identified by the contracted laboratory ( ies) . The selected laboratory ( ies ) <br /> shall be NELAC certified and as accepted by FDEP . <br /> HydroMentia shall visit the site no less than once weekly during the course of the field <br /> investigation to provide required operational services . Operational services shall include <br /> operation and maintenance of equipment ; documentation of field conditions ; harvesting , <br /> documentation and management of algal turf harvest ; and recovery , preparation and <br /> delivery of water samples to a NELAC certified laboratory ( ies) . In -situ testing (field <br /> sampling for pH , dissolved oxygen , conductivity and temperature and monitoring flow , air <br /> temperature and rainfall ) shall be by HydroMentia . <br /> During the project , monthly update reports will be prepared that summarize system <br /> performance and include explanation of any operational adjustments . At project' s end , a <br /> final report shall be prepared and submitted for review . The final project report shall include <br /> a complete compilation and analysis of performance data for the six month field <br /> demonstration ( pilot) project . From this analysis , adjustments , if required , will be made to <br /> the system design , system performance and harvesting /composting projections for a <br /> conceptual full -scale Algal Turf Scrubber@ system to be applied to the PC - South Water <br /> Treatment and Re- Use Water Project . HydroMentia shall prepare modified Algal Turf <br /> Scrubber Design Model (ATSDEM ) runs , and these shall be included within the final <br /> project report . <br /> Plan of Study 13 <br />
