''`tr `i,d^Y A,+,.x . :_a,e 1 . sa. ., cr+ #-cd . .,rgs4 •.
On Motion of Commissioner Massey, second of Commissioner
McCullers, the following Item to Item Transfer was unanimously
approved:
ITEM TO ITEM TRANSFER a
Road and Bridge Fund
Acct. No. From To.
90196 Reserve for Contingency $5,000.00
85181 Building Construction $5,000.00
'j On Motion of Commissioner McCullers, second of Commissioner
Z
Bogosian, the Board unanimously voted that on the recommendation
of the Administrator that past experience of the County, has proven
that machinery with unknown potential can sometimes be costly, that .
the Cleveland Grader.and the Huber Grader bid in the bid opening
• of November 25 are of unknown background.
That these machines may be fine machines but that the Cleveland
machine cannot be viewed without traveling out of the•Sin te. That
the County has been unable to find any place where the machine has
been time proven. That the Cleveland machine is assdmbled in
Canada from parts from many different cities in the United States,
which might result in a service problem.
That the County has many times spent considerable money on
repairs and service for other makes of machinery; however the
Caterpillar machines have always been of little cost in maintenance
to the County and have lasted over periods of twentyyears,or more,
and because of the availability of parts and service for the
''r 9 Caterpillar, and becauselof the interchangeability of the parts,
it is the opinion of the Board that the bid of Kelly Tractor Company
in the'amount of $30,189.00 is the lowest and best bid of a time
proven and tested machine. Now, therefore, this Board does
accept the bid of Kelly Tractor Company for the Motor Grader bid
in the bid opening of November 25.
d
