Owner, and its duly authorized employees and representatives , and representatives of all <br /> governmental agencies having jurisdiction over work areas or any part thereof, shall , at all reasonable <br /> times , have access to such areas and the premises used by Contractor. Contractor shall also arrange for <br /> Owner , its representatives and employees , to have access at all reasonable times to all places where <br /> equipment or materials are being manufactured , produced or fabricated for use under the Contract. <br /> GC 14 SURVEY , LINES AND GRADE <br /> Unless otherwise specified , the Engineer shall furnish all land survey control points , base lines <br /> and benchmarks for the location of the work . The Contractor shall be responsible for the preservation of <br /> all lines , points , and elevations furnished and shall bear the expense of resetting same if Contractor or <br /> any of its subcontractors move or destroy or render inaccurate any such base lines , points and <br /> elevations . From the information provided by the Engineer, the Contractor shall develop and make all <br /> detail surveys and establish lines and grades as required . The Contractor shall keep the Engineer <br /> informed as to his needs for base lines or bench marks in order that the same may be furnished and all <br /> necessary measurements made for the record with a minimum of inconvenience to the Engineer or delay <br /> to the Contractor. <br /> GC 15 SITE CONDITIONS . <br /> Contractor shall have the sole responsibility of satisfying itself concerning the nature and location <br /> of the work and the general and local conditions , and particularly , but without limitation , with respect to <br /> the following : conditions affecting the transportation , access , disposal , handling and storage of materials ; <br /> the availability , quantity and quality of labor, water and electric power; availability and condition of roads ; <br /> climatic conditions ; location of underground utilities ; existing site conditions , topography and ground <br /> conditions ; subsurface geology , and nature and quantity of surface and subsurface materials to be <br /> encountered ; and all other matters which can in any way affect eh performance of the Contract or the cost <br /> associated therewith . Contractor' s failure to assess the site conditions will not relieve it from <br /> the <br /> responsibility for properly estimating the costs and schedule of performing the work . <br /> GC 16 SUBSOIL CONDITIONS . <br /> Unless otherwise stipulated in the plans and specification , no subsoil investigations have been <br /> made . The Contractor shall satisfy itself as to all subsoil conditions . <br /> GC 17 SURFACE AND SUBSURFACE WATER <br /> The control of surface and subsurface water by Contractor shall be permitted by the proper <br /> regulatory agencies , with copies submitted to Owner. Contractor shall immediately remedy any permit <br /> violations and shall be responsible for any fines or penalties assessed by such agencies for permit <br /> violations . <br /> GC 18 CONTRACTOR WORK AREA <br /> Contractor' s work area on the job site will be assigned by Owner. Contractor shall confine its <br /> office , storage , assembly , equipment and parking to the areas so assigned . Should Contractor find it <br /> necessary to use any additional land outside the work site for any purpose , Contractor shall , <br />at its <br /> expense , provide for the use of any such additional land . <br /> GC 19 CONTRACTOR- FURNISHED MATERIALS , EQUIPMENT AND WORKMANSHIP <br /> Contractor shall provide and use on any work only such construction plant and equipment as are <br /> capable of producing the quality and quantity of work and materials required by the drawings <br /> and <br /> specifications within the established schedule . Only new, unused materials and items of recent <br /> manufacture , of designated quality , free from defects , will be accepted . Contractor shall , if requested , <br /> furnish evidence satisfactory to the Owner as to the kind and quality of materials . Contractor shall utilize <br /> lumber, timber and other forest products produced and manufactured in Florida when such products are <br /> available and their price , fitness and quality are equal to comparable products . Upon written order of the <br /> Owner, Contractor shall discontinue operation of unsatisfactory plant, equipment and /or facilities . Owner <br /> will be the final authority for determining conformance of workmanship , materials , equipment and systems <br /> with the requirements of the Contract.
