On Motion of Commissioner Loy, second of Commissioner <br />Massey,. the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />N J <br />RESOLUTION NO. 71-10 <br />A,RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE <br />CONCEPT OF s EDE'AL REVENUE. - <br />SHARING AND ENCOURAGING EARLY <br />CONGRESS1O1`,1AL ACTION ON ENACT- <br />MENT OF A FEDERAL PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, it is becoming increasingly difficult for City, County, and State <br />Government to provide necessary services with revenues currently available, and <br />WHEREAS, the primary source of revenue for governmental purposes is the Federal <br />Income Tax levied and collected by the Federal Government, and <br />WHEREAS, the current administration at the Federal Government level has proposed <br />a Federal Revenue Sharing Program to assist local governments in the provision of services; <br />NOW, THEREFORE,' BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, in regular session assembled this. 24th day of . <br />FPhrnarx , 1971, that it does hereby strongly endorse the principle of Federal <br />Revenue Sharing and encourages the Ninety—Second Congress to enact legislation estab- <br />1 ishing such a program at the earliest opportunity.
