A letter was received from Douglas Strickland of the <br />Land Development Department regarding a boat ramp at Sebastian <br />Inlet Park. <br />On Motion of Commissioner McCullers, second of <br />Commissioner Massey, the Board unanimously approved out of <br />County travel of I. J. Rovang, Henry Simon and Jay A. Smith <br />to Rockledge to attend a Civil Defense Meeting on May 28, 1971. <br />On Motion of Commissioner Massey, second of Commissioner <br />McCullers, the Board unanimously approved appointment of Hoyt <br />Howard as Deputy Civil Defense Director, by Jay A. T. Cooksey has submitted his resignation. <br />(See attached letter.) <br />In a subsequent conference with Mr. Cooksey he <br />recommended that Yr. Hoyt Howard, who has been Director <br />of Operations, be appointed in his place. <br />Ari interview with Mr. Howard reveals that Mr. <br />Cooksey's recommendation was an excellent one. Mr. <br />Howard has agreed to serve in such a capacity.
