On Motion of Commissioner Massey, second of Commissioner <br />Loy, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 71-33 <br />WHEREAS, oyster drills and other predators are presently <br />threatening the shellfish industry of Indian River County and Brevard <br />County, and <br />WHEREAS, regulations presently require certain culling <br />procedures, which cause oyster drills and other predators to be returned <br />to the water to continue their destruction, and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River Shellfish Association is sponsoring <br />e <br />legislation to correct this problem, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />County Commissioners .of Indian River County that the Board supports <br />the efforts of the Indian River Shellfish Association and requests that <br />4 <br />our legislative delegation support its efforts by passing corrective <br />legislation. <br />The Attorney reported that Florida Statutes required <br />Motion of the Board to dispose of an unclaimed body. Motion was <br />made by Commissioner Massey, second by Commissioner McCullers and <br />the Board unanimously voted to dispose of the unclaimed body of. <br />Y <br />Robert Johnson in accordance with Florida Law. <br />A petition to set aside taxes on the property purchased <br />F <br />for Sebastian Inlet State Park was referred to the Attorney. <br />4 <br />Commissioner McCullers left the meeting. <br />Frederick B. Speigel, Attorney representing Utility <br />Capital Corporation appeared regarding a tax matter in Vero Tropical <br />Gardens.Subdivision. The Attorney stated that there were three <br />alternatives: <br />1. Order the Attorney to make a voluntary dismissal <br />2. Go ahead with the suit and the Board will place a <br />value on the property not less than 50'/0 of the AA <br />assessed value. boot �t SAGE i <br />3: -The lands will sell for any price two years after <br />the final judge-ent. <br />MAY 19 1971 <br />
