On Motion of. Commissioner McCullers, second of Commissioner . <br />Loy, the Board unanimously moved that the bids be given to the <br />Administrator to work with the Architect to evaluate the bids. <br />The Attorney informed the Board that, as the bids were approximately <br />11%6 over the estimated cost, they would not be required to accept <br />g <br />them. <br />John J. Schlitt, Jr. presented the final drawing of the <br />addition to the jail. <br />On Motion of Commissioner McCullers, second of Commissioner <br />Loy, the Board unanimously approved a bill from the architect for <br />services completed in the.amount of $560.00. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner Massey, seconded by <br />commissioner Loy and unanimously <br />carried that the Administrator <br />, <br />advise Merrill P. Barber that the Board accepts the offer of the <br />pictures pertaining to the early settlers of Vero Beach, and <br />appreciates the offer. <br />On Motion of Commissioner Dritenbas, second of Commissioner <br />Massey, the Board unanimously authorized travel of the Administrator <br />to Fort Lauderdale on May 28 to attend a State Department of <br />t <br />Transportation Meeting. <br />i <br />Margaret Dixon, Indian River County Safety Council, appeared <br />in connection to safety -on the waterways. The Attorney was requested j <br />to write a letter to the Department of Natural Resources regarding ; <br />the many violations to the existing State Laws and ask them to <br />conduct a survey. The Board also decided to meet with the.Sheriff <br />in connection to the problem. <br />Rosemary Richey, Supervisor of Registration, appeared <br />before the Board in regard to a proposed bill allowing bids on <br />voting machines, and informed the Board of the many problems which <br />.might be incurred with more than one type of voting machine. <br />On Motion of Commissioner Loy, second.of Commissioner <br />McCullers, the following Resolution was unanimously approved: <br />Y <br />
