Dewey Walker, County Zoning Inspector, presented lists <br />of zoning violations and dilapidated houses in the County. Mike <br />Starckx appeared in regard to a fence at the South Gifford landfill <br />i <br />Area because the -cars stored there were being stripped. The Board <br />concluded that they would ask the Sheriff to patrol the area from <br />time to time. The County Administrator advised Mr. Starckk,:that <br />the County would consider any written proposal for moving junk <br />cars from various areas of the County. <br />Gladys Vigliana, County Welfare Caseworker, appeared <br />before the Board in regard.to Welfare matters. On Motion of <br />Commissioner Massey, second of Commissioner McCullers, the <br />following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />RE S GLUT I ON NO. 71-39 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, resolves: <br />1. Every applicant for County Welfare through expenditures <br />of funds within the control of the Board of County Commissioners of. <br />Indian River County, Florida must have been, at the time of applica- <br />tion, residing in Indian River County for a period of one (1) year. <br />E <br />2. The administration of the expenditure of such funds to <br />such a resident shall be under the direction of the Director of <br />F <br />Welfare. <br />3. The Director of Welfare may authorize emergency <br />medical or hospitalization assistance after the Director has <br />determined that no other resources are available to the applicant. <br />Application for emergency medical or hospitalization assistance <br />must be made within five (5) days after hospital admission of the <br />applicant and all required forms must be completed. Hospitalization <br />assistance is limited to 12 days per family. <br />4. The Director of Welfare may authorize general <br />assistance to a destitute citizen by authorizing one food voucher <br />per week for a period not to exceed one (1) month when the Director <br />BOQX4 PAGE <br />
