C . Work covered by this section of the specifications shall conform to the contract documents , <br /> engineering plans as well as state and local codes . <br /> D. The purpose of these lighting specifications is to define the performance and design standards for <br /> Vero Beach Sports Village sports lighting for baseball fields. The manufacturer / contractor shall supply <br /> lighting equipment to meet or exceed the standards set forth by the criteria set forth in these <br /> specifications . <br /> E. The sports lighting will be for the following fields: <br /> 1 . Baseball Field # 1 and #2 (See Attached Location Map) <br /> F . Airport Comments <br /> 1 . HEIGHT NOTIFICATION ZONE: Construction of lighting may affect navigable airspace . <br /> Contractor must file a Notice of Proposed Construction or Alteration ( Form 7460- 1 ) with the <br /> FAA. <br /> Prior to site plan approval , the applicant shall receive a "Determination of No Hazard" from the Federal <br /> Aviation Administration ( FAA) pursuant to Part 77 , Federal Aviation Regulations . Request for FAA <br /> approval should be made by the applicant through the FAA Southern Region office (Atlanta , GA) using <br /> FAA Form 7460- 1 . Contact Vero Beach Airport for more information (978-4930 ) . <br /> a) Any current obstruction (natural or man-made) which lies in the approach path to any runway at <br /> the Vero Beach Airport must meet the requirements of FAR Part 77 . <br /> b) All proposed landscaping or plantings shall be selected with a mature height that meets the <br /> requirements of FAR Part 77. <br /> c) An FAA line-of-sight review may be necessary for site locations adjacent to airport movement <br /> areas. Contact Airport Director's Office. <br /> 2. GENERAL: During construction , applicant shall coordinate construction activities with the Airport <br /> Director's office (772-978-4930). The applicant shall notify the Airport Director' s office at least 72 <br /> hours prior to using any construction crane or other equipment that exceeds a height of 35 feet <br /> above ground level. Proper obstruction lighting and flags are required. <br /> a ) All external lighting , during and after completion of construction , shall be directed downward at a <br /> sufficient angle so as to avoid a visual distraction to pilots in airborne aircraft in the vicinity of the <br /> airport. <br /> G . Environmental Light Control: <br /> 1 . It is the goal of this project to not negatively impact this community with <br /> excessive spill light or glare. Lighting manufacturer and installing contractor must meet <br /> requirements set forth in the lighting ordinance for Indian River County and City of Vero Beach . <br /> Manufacturer and/or contractor will be responsible for submitting a site plan which details <br /> photometric plan , the location of and description of each type of outdoor luminaire to be installed <br /> and a photograph or diagram thereof. Contractors must have a certified lighting designer, certified <br /> lighting engineer, or manufacturer's representative certify that the completed installation conforms <br /> to the approved outdoor lighting plan and the requirements of the article. Lighting manufacturer <br /> and contractor must verify with Indian River County Community Development Department and <br /> Vero Beach Planning and Development Department that "spill light control" meets the ordinance <br /> the County and City of Vero Beach, <br /> 2. Guaranteed Light Levels: The lighting system shall be designed such that the light levels are <br /> guaranteed for a period of 25 years . <br /> 3 . Contractors are required to obtain a building permit (Indian River County Building Division ) .
