ARTHUR FRIEND,PRESIDENT OF THE VERO BEACH ASSOCIATION <br />READ A STATEMENT RECOMMENDING THE BOARD TEMPORARILY HALT ISSUING <br />PERMITS FOR MOBILE HOMES UNTIL AN IN DEPTH STUDY INTO TIE - <br />DOWNS THAT WOULD WITHSTAND HURRICANE WINDS AND ALSO FIRE SAFETY <br />REGULATIONS BE MADE BY AN INDEPENDENT OUTSIDE FIRM. <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS WAS REQUESTED TO INVESTIGATE <br />THE COUNTY'S WINDSTORM AND FIRE REGULATIONS FOR MOBILE HOMES -AND <br />REPORT TO THE BOARD AT A FUTURE MEETING. <br />VALENTYNE E. BRENNAN, COUNTY -CITY PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />ADVISED THE BOARD OF A STUDY BEING TAKEN, COUNTY -WIDE, OF THE <br />NUMBER OF MOBILE HOME PARKS; THE NUMBER OF UNITS IN THE PARKS; <br />AND THE NUMBER OF VACANT SPACES. A COUNT IS ALSO BEING MADE OF <br />MOBILE HOMES NOT IN PARKS, BUT ON INDIVIDUAL LOTS.
